After completion of the feasibility study for the new Headington Hall Student Housing project at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, STUDIOARCHITECTURE (in association with Newman Architects) was awarded the approximately $52M student housing project. The project includes programming and design for approximately 360 beds, along with associated student life functions and site development. Outdoor student activity space, patios, walkways, and associated parking articulate the ground plane. Once inside, students and visitors will find many useful amenities on the first floor, including food service, dining, a game room, a theater room, a cardiovascular room, commons area, and retail spaces. Currently, the project includes four residential floors designed to house both two and four bedroom suites along with student lounges, support spaces, and resident advisor apartments. Overall massing of the student housing village is in keeping with academic scales of the campus by limiting the height to five floors above grade.
