Multimodal Transportation Terminal

One of the biggest universities in the state of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University required a facility to accommodate the ever-growing public transportation and parking needs of the student population, staff and employees. STUDIOARCHITECTURE designed the Multimodal Transportation Facility that includes a ten-slip bus oval and terminal building as well as a 1,100 car parking facility.

The function of the terminal building stretches beyond simple public transportation housing. It has a large lobby as well as a coffee shop to provide a gathering space and refreshment for riders, and it also meets university space needs by providing offices for the parking, transit and police departments. The garage is north of the terminal building, and it has two entrances and exits off Monroe Avenue and Scott Street. STUDIOARCHITECTURE diminished the size of the garage by designing it to recess into the hillside. Glazed stair towers anchor the ends of the garage and act as orientation/landmarks for campus pedestrian paths. The Facility was recently awarded the Association of General Contractors Award for pre-cast concrete paneling.
